A Native Pollinator Haven

**Coming Summer 2025 to Brearley House**

 

We're excited to announce the opening of Emelia's Garden, adedicated native pollinator garden set to blossom at BrearleyHouse in the summer of 2025. This special project by EmeliaAchacoso, a Junior Historian with the Lawrence HistoricalSociety, is her Girl Scout Gold Award Project. It aims tocreate a sanctuary for pollinators while fostering anappreciation for native plant species.Pollinator gardens, such as Emelia's, play a crucial role insupporting our ecosystem. By planting native species, thegarden will provide a rich and sustainable habitat for avariety of pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and birds.These pollinators are essential for the reproduction of manyplants, contributing to biodiversity and the overall health ofour environment. Gardens like this help to ensure that localwildlife has access to the resources they need to thrive,while also beautifying the landscape.Emelia's Garden will not only serve as a haven for pollinatorsbut also as an educational resource for the community.Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about theimportance of native plants and how they can support localecosystems in their own backyards. Through guided toursand workshops, Emelia's vision is to inspire others to takeaction in preserving our natural heritage.Join us in celebrating the launch of Emelia's Garden atBrearley House and be a part of this wonderful initiative tosupport our pollinators and promote environmentalstewardship. Together, we can make a positive impact on ourworld, one plant at a time.
